About Dr. Neil Ross

Neil Evan Ross, MD, is a physician and business professional with a background in anesthesiology, medical operations, and healthcare leadership. Early Years and Education

Neil Evan Ross was born in Chicago, Illinois, and pursued his high school education at Ida Crown Jewish Academy. Upon graduating from high school, Neil relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, to attend Tulane University and undertook a Bachelor of Science degree. He was then accepted into Tulane University School of Medicine and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1986.

Postgraduate Clinical Training

Neil accepted a surgical internship at Boston University Medical Center after completing medical school. This role exposed him to the pressure and pace of hospital work, where the stakes were high, and decisions had to be made quickly.

After completing his internship, he returned to New York to begin a residency in anesthesiology at New York University Medical Center. His interest in anesthesia led him to complete a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at NYU. This training allowed him to work with complex surgical cases and strengthen his clinical judgment.

Professional Career in Clinical Anesthesia

Neil’s first position after completing his fellowship was with Sheridan Healthcare in Hollywood, Florida. He joined in 1990 and remained with the group until 1996. During his time there, he served as Director of Cardiac Anesthesia. He contributed to the company’s expansion by participating in new contract development and support initiatives beyond the state.

While clinical duties occupied most of his day, he also became involved in administrative planning. He observed the systems behind care delivery, including billing, scheduling, compliance, and communication between staff and management.

Entrepreneurship and Practice Management in New Jersey

In 1996, Dr. Neil Ross relocated to New Jersey and became a member of Summit Anesthesia Associates. The transition marked the beginning of his work as a physician and a managing partner. The practice was contracted to provide anesthesia services at regional hospitals, including Mountainside Hospital and Trinitas Hospital.

By 1999, he had assumed the role of managing member. His focus included negotiating hospital contracts, leading hiring efforts, managing provider relationships, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

In 2008, he launched Pinnacle Anesthesia Consultants in Livingston, New Jersey. As the owner, Neil took full responsibility for business decisions, clinical coverage, and contract negotiations for the surgery center where he managed the Anesthesia services. The practice operated successfully, generating over three million dollars in revenue and maintaining consistent year-over-year growth.

He remained active in clinical work during this period, which included surgical coverage, emergency response, and provider supervision. He maintained this schedule until 2012. In 2012, DR. Ross suffered a debilitating stroke, which necessitated his retirement from his anesthesia practice.

Advisory and Strategic Roles

In 2016, Neil transitioned to a new role with Omniscient Financial LLC, a family business. As a member of Omniscient, he advised on equipment financing and financial compliance.

He remained with Omniscient Financial until 2024.

Continued Professional Role

In 2024, Neil invested in Diabetic Practice Solutions LLC. This business was developed to assist healthcare providers in delivering structured diabetes care while maintaining efficiency and staying aligned with administrative standards. Neil focused on helping practices improve both patient outcomes and financial performance.

Credentials and Affiliations

Though he no longer practices, Neil holds a medical license in Florida, which is currently inactive. He is a member of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He earned his first board certification in anesthesiology in 1991 and renewed it voluntarily in 2008.

Relocation and Personal Focus

After over two decades in New Jersey, Dr. Neil Ross moved to Boca Raton, Florida, in 2019. The relocation allowed him to reconnect with his family and refocus his efforts in a new setting.

Neil remains engaged with physical fitness outside of work, lifting weights several times a week to maintain health and mobility. In addition, he pursues wine collecting as a personal interest.

Neil also gives back to the community and has supported several synagogues.
